Learning Objectives

By the end of this course learners will be able to:

  • Explore the Smart View Panel to distinguish between the different connection methods to the host application
  • Appraise the use of Ad Hoc reporting to understand how the data can be explored
  • Contrast the use of Smart View functions with free-form ad hoc reporting to learn how to build data form-like reports
  • Analyse the use of Sets and Set Filters when building Smart Queries
  • Practice the use of Data Forms, opened within Smart View, from Financial Consolidation and Close Cloud (FCCS)
  • Investigate the use of Smart View to open reports with Word and PowerPoint

Course Description

Using Oracle Smart View for Office, you can view, import, manipulate, distribute, and share data from various data sources using Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Learn to set up the Smart View connection manager, member selection and using data forms for entering, calculating and processing data.

Analyse data using ad-hoc features such as pivot, drill-down, keep only and remove only. Find out more about using data forms and task lists from within Smart View and how to integrate queries with Microsoft Office products. Gain experience in writing functions to read data and retrieve dimension labels and descriptions.

Explore the ribbons and learn how to review the process level and calculation status within a Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) applciation.
