Course Description

The course addresses all aspects of system administration, maintenance and deployment. No prior knowledge is needed. Topics include the setup and navigation of the client and web interface, the creation of new applications and the 12 dimensions, member list creation, management of documents and task lists, financial rule-writing and calculation manager.

Further topics cover consolidation and translation, data adjustments with journals, intercompany setup, shared services and security design, life cycle management, reporting and the Microsoft Office add-in Smart View.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this course learners will be able to:

  • Identify how to create and maintain HFM applications.
  • Explain how to update existing metadata and how to configure system dimensionality.
  • Recognize how dimensions and member hierarchies are used to structure and analyze data.
  • Critique how Process Control can be used to review, validate and sign off data.
  • Recall how Smart View can be used to perform ad-hoc data analysis.
  • Implement individual user and group security settings through the use of Shared Services.
